Since April 2010, federal law has required that contractors performing renovation, repair, and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities, and schools built before 1978 to be certified by the EPA and follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination.
Montana Paint was proactive, and sent two foremen to get trained and certified by the EPA. Our company is an EPA Lead-Safe Certified Firm.
We were able to use our new training and work practices in September 2010 while scraping and re-painting the exterior of Cottonwood School. The project looks great, and and our lead containment practices performed flawlessly. Parents and children who showed up for the first day of school were treated to nice new colors, and a safer learning environment!
In addition to the proper working practices related to lead-based paint, we are knowledgeable and experienced when it comes to painting older buildings. We have a few exterior paint products that work extremely well, and we trust them to help our paint jobs last for many years.
Call us to learn more about what we can bring to the table with your lead-based paint project. More information is also available at www.epa.gov/lead.

better, faster, cheaper, greener.
In our 9000 square foot facility on Highway 191 in Bozeman, Montana, we prefinish thousands of feet of wood and reclaimed lumber for builders and homeowners in Montana and across the Western US.
- It's better because our technology ensures quality you simply can't get by finishing at the dusty, dirty job site, and because our custom colors and finishes deliver astounding results.
- It's faster because of our multiple spray booths and automatic line machines. We're working while work continues at the job site, doubling efficiency.
- It's cheaper because we know what we're doing, and know how to do it efficiently-cheaper, in this case, still goes hand in hand with better.
- It's greener because the hazards of on-site finishing are removed from the job site and its workers-and even our facility is specifically designed to combat the safety and environmental hazards inherent with spraying finishes.
Since 1999, Montana Prefinish (in combination with our sister company, Montana Paint) has helped some of the most high-profile, detailed-driven projects in the region achieve a dynamic look, meet deadlines, and stay on budget through a process that simply cannot be duplicated by on-site finishing.

Commercial
(new construction/repaints)
Commercial painting comprises about 15% of our business. We have many commercial projects under our belt, and have worked on projects in Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho. Our largest project to date is a 170,000sf/220 unit housing project for the University of Montana. We completed the project on time with 26 painters in six months. The project included complete interior and exterior painting, as well as pre-finishing interior doors and trim in our pre-finishing facility. There were days that we sprayed over 500 gallons of paint in a day.
We are members of the Bozeman Builder's Exchange, and keep an eye on all of the projects coming up for bid.
Commercial painting is demanding, and has honed our skills and experience, which helps us perform more efficiently on our residential projects as well.
Residential
